Implementation in ADDIE

In this blog post we will briefly describe the activities that happen in the implementation phase of ADDIE.

This is the “Training and Education” part of the curriculum, and probably the most visible phase of all of ADDIE. This phase connects the provider of the content to the end users (the learner).

Training is presented, materials are given, skills are learned and assessed.

The designer may not be the one facilitating the training, so the designer, in this phase, needs to be evaluating the facilitators to ensure that they are following curriculum with the least amount of improvising.

Evaluation is also a big part of this phase because you are getting near real-time feedback potentially on the facilitator, the materials and technology, the environment, and the conformity the implementation has with the original design plan.

You will also be collecting learner evaluations. You will want the learners perspective and impressions.

The evaluations need to cover every aspect of the curriculum up through the end user experience.
